Shri Pudal Tirth

Mulnayak: Shri Adishvar Bhagavan, Black coloured idol, Ardha Padmasana Posture about 120 cms in Height.

Tirth Place: This tirth is located on Chennai(Madras) to Calcutta highway. This tirth is at a distance of 15 Kms from Chennai(Madras) in a village called Polal.

History: This temple is about 2500 years old. This temple was built by Chola King Kurumbar. He was a strict follower of Jainism. We can know that the temple is many years old on seeing the Idols there.

Specialty: This tirth is oldest among the temples in Tamil Nadu. This tirth is also called Kesarvadi because it resembles the tirth of Kesariyaji. Shri Rishabdas lived here and this temples presence is due to him and he is main person who re-habilitated this tirth. The statues of Shri Padmavati Devi is famous and has special attraction because the wishes are fulfilled here. Every year on Kartik Purnima, Chaitri Purnima and Vaishakh Shukla Trutiya thousands of people gather hear for Bhakti.

Art and Sculptures: The idol of Shri Adishvar Bhgavan is of ancient architecture and this idol is made of one stone and on the same stone there are Chamardhari, Indra, Bhavamandal, Ashoka Vriksha and many things are carved. There is one more statue of Bhagavan Parshvanath which of same kind.
