Shri Mahimapur Tirth

Mulnayak: Shri Parshvanath Bhagavan, Padmasana Posture, Black coloured idol.

Tirth Place: The temple is at a distance of 4 kms. from Jiyaganj Station in a village called Mahimapur which was a part of Murshidabad earlier.

History: This temple was built in 18 century V.S. by Mahtabrai, the temple was situated on the bank of river Ganga and it was demolished partly by floods in Ganga so it was built again by his family members, in the new temple with same old idol. He did many useful works for development of people and religion, so he decorated with 'Jagathseth Padvi'

Specialty: This temple is one of main tirth's among the 5 others in Bengal. The temple has it own specialty and this temple has brought much prosperity to many people.

Art and Sculptures: The variety black stone used for idol is very beautiful and has magnificent look.

Guidelines: The nearest railway stations Jiyaganj and Murshidabad which are at a distance of 4 kms. Here transport facilities are available upto the temple.

Facilites:  There is Dharmashala in Jiyaganj from there we can come to Mahimapur. All the other facilities are available.
